A CHILLING mummy found with TWO heads – one of a princess and one of a crocodile – has been pictured for the first time.

The creepy mummified body, which combines the head of a human and the reptile, was hidden from the public eye for more than a century.

It is made up from unidentified ancient Egyptian princess and the head and body of a Nile crocodile.

The Hurriyet newspaper reports how after the princess was killed by a crocodile a decision was made to combine the two bodies.

It was hoped she would be resurrected in the afterlife as a crocodile, according to reports.

The mummy was brought from Egypt to Turkey during the rule of Ottoman Sultan Abdulaziz in the mid-1800s.

It had been locked away from public at Istanbul’s Topkapi Palace.

It was previously stored in Yildiz Palace, which was the sultan’s residence at the time.

In February we revealed how the ‘Screaming Mummy’ mystery from ancient Egypt which has baffled experts for years has finally been resolved.

When archaeologists first uncovered the mummified body they were surprised to find the face of the long-ᴅᴇᴀᴅ Egyptian distorted in anguish, appearing to be silently screaming.

Dr Bob Brier, an archaeologist at the University of Long Island in New York who has examined the body said: “Two forces were acting on this mummy: one to get rid of him and the other to try and preserve him.”
