A gigantic UFO was observed by a group of 400 students and teachers in New Zealand.
In 1970, a significant event took place at Richmond School in Napier, New Zealand, involving the sighting of a giant UFO. The sighting was witnessed by the principal, teachers, and approximately 400 students.
The local newspaper, the Napier Daily Telegraph, reported on the event just one day after it occurred, with the headline “Mysterious object in the sky is seen by teachers and 400 children.”
The witnesses described the UFO as a mᴀssive unidentified flying object that appeared like a “hole in the sky.” The sighting caused an unusual silence among the usually noisy children, who paused their activities to observe the saucer-shaped UFO.
W. Billing, the school principal, initially mistook the object for a plane due to its movement in a southerly direction. However, it was too bright to be a conventional aircraft. The teachers were also perplexed by the object, noting that it seemed to shine even on the side facing away from the Sun. The UFO appeared to hover between Westshore and Tongoio.
After suspending its movement for a few minutes, the object began to move away, exhibiting erratic angles before transforming into a large ball with a glowing, transparent center. It quickly flattened out again and continued to recede in a straight line until disappearing into the sky. Suddenly, it reappeared as a huge glowing planet-like object before vanishing once more at high speed.
The school director confirmed that the object was not a weather balloon but rather a solid and apparently metallic enтιтy.
One of the teachers, A. Coveny, admitted to being a skeptic of UFO sightings despite reading reports about them. However, the experience at the school changed his perspective.
He mentioned that the sighting silenced the usual sounds of the students’ activities and created an eerie atmosphere. The movements of the flying saucer were described as supernatural, and its shape-shifting appearance had an iridescent quality, as if it were a real portal into another dimension.
Although the newspaper article included sketches of the witnessed UFO, the quality of these images today is considered poor.
This mᴀss sighting of the giant UFO in New Zealand joins a list of other sightings with a substantial number of witnesses. One of the most well-known incidents occurred in 1994 at the Ariel School in Zimbabwe, where not only did the children witness a flying object, but it also landed, allowing them to see its occupants.
